Nostromo
Created by Jean-François Ruchonnet and Eric Coudray , nicknamed “the masters of revolutionary watchmaking”, the Cabestan Nostromo draws its inspiration form the world of science fiction, more exactly the legendary film Alien. A single crystal on the case reveals the vertical wheels and drums as well as the ingenious articulated drive shaft used to transmit the energy to the movement. The bridges do not just anchor the wheels, they wrap around the hour, minute and seconds drums, power reserve and barrel to make them simple to read. Other ingenious features include a jumping hour function, lateral windows in the case that reveal the architecture of the movement, and the transmission of the force that moves so astonishingly from the horizontal to the vertical. Cabestan Nostromo undergoes a transformation at dusk: a fine phosphorescent coating inside the bridges, windows and surfaces of the movement diffuses a yellow-green light that illuminates the mechanism and spreads over the strap, creating an almost supernatural effect.
