Furrer-Jacot - Prestigious bridal jewellery since more than 140 years
The company focuses on the manufacture of partner jewellery and is today with 100 members of staff in Switzerland, Japan, Germany and Hongkong one of the global market leaders in the manufacturing of prestigious wedding rings.
The company history of Furrer-Jacot began in the year 1858 at 98 Rue de la Servette in Geneva. Jean-Jacques Arbenz moved the company to Schaffhausen already one year later. In the absence of a successor, Fritz Furrer bought the company in 1943 and joined forces both for business and life with Lucienne Jacot, from the French part of Switzerland. The result has been the unique combination of professional craftsmanship, perfect manufacturing precision and high creative potential which continues to the present day.
Fritz Furrer sold the retail business in 1948, choosing to focus on the production of jewellery and its marketing and distribution in specialised retailing. The company's regular attendance at the World Watch, Clock and Jewellery Fair in Basel has played no small part in making Furrer-Jacot well-known far beyond national frontiers. The company has founded subsidiaries in Japan, Hongkong and Switzerland that are contributing significantly to sales.
On 1 January 1999 Furrer-Jacot changed hands as part of a management buyout. The takeover by the existing management team (Mr. Niklaus Bieri, Mr. René Felder and Mr. Sandro Erl) ensures the continuation of the current business strategy that includes the focus on the core business of prestigious Swiss bridal jewellery, distribution via specialised high-end retailers, department stores, own shop-in-shops and the expansion of the market position in international markets.
