Académie horlogère des créateurs indépendants Le but des membres fondateurs, Svend Andersen et Vincent Calabrese, en créant l'AHCI en 1984, était de montrer que parallèlement à la fabrication industrielle des montres et horloges, la fabrication artisanale avait toujours une place très importante à défendre. En effet, après la crise horlogère provoquée par l'arrivée de la montre à quartz au milieu des années 1970, l'on voit renaître à cette époque un intérêt grandissant pour la montre mécanique.
Une première exposition de l'AHCI fut organisée au Musée de l'horlogerie du Locle en 1985. Actuellement, une trentaine d'idéalistes de 11 nationalités se réunissent pour promouvoir leur capacité de développer et d'exécuter des œuvres exceptionnelles d'horlogerie classique tout en évoluant dans la technicité et l'esthétique. Depuis 1987, ils participent chaque année à la Foire « Basel World » et offrent ainsi aux collectionneurs et aux amateurs de belle horlogerie tout comme à la presse internationale la possibilité de rencontrer de vrais maîtres de l'horlogerie qui y présentent eux-mêmes leurs innovations et chef d'œuvres.
Au cours de ces presque 25 ans, l'AHCI a également participé à diverses expositions, principalement sur invitation, en Italie, au Danemark, en France et en Autriche, la dernière en date : à Kuala Lumpur en Malaisie, en décembre 2008.
A noter aussi que certains des modèles les plus exceptionnels des grandes marques sont des créations des horlogers académiciens. Horological Academy of Independent Creators When founding the AHCI in 1984, the foundation members, Svend Andersen and Vincent Calabrese, wanted to prove that, beside industrial watch and clock manufacturing, there was also a need for manual and artistic watch-making and that craftsmanship could still occupy an important place. After the advent of the quartz watches and the crisis of the 70’s there was a new interest for mechanical watches.
A first exhibition took place at the Watch museum of Le Locle in 1985. Today the AHCI unites about 30 idealists coming from 11 different countries. Their existence is based on a solid know-how of classical watch-making. They promote exceptional horological innovations as well as special technical and artistic executions. Their participation since 1987 at the Fair "Basel World" offers every year to collectors and amateurs of authentic horology as well as to the international press the opportunity to get into contact with the true horologists who are there presenting personally their innovations and high grade master pieces.
During these almost 25 years of existence, the AHCI was also present at several exhibitions, mostly on invitation, in Italy, Denmark, France and Austria, the last one in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in December 2008.
By the way, some of the very unusual and exceptional models of the famous watch and clock manufacturers are creations of the horological academicians. Akademie selbständiger, schöpferisch tätiger Uhrmacher Die Gründungsmitglieder der AHCI, Svend Andersen und Vincent Calabrese, wollten 1984 den Beweis antreten, dass neben der industriellen auch die handwerkliche Uhrenfertigung einen bedeutenden Platz einnimmt, denn nach dem Aufkommen der Quarzuhr und der Uhrenkrise der 70er Jahren nahm das Interesse für mechanische Uhren damals wieder zu.
Eine erste Austellung der AHCI fand 1985 im Uhrenmuseum von Le Locle statt. Heute sind es 30 Idealisten aus 11 Nationen die sich im Rahmen der AHCI zusammenfinden. Sie beweisen, dass höchste handwerkliche Kunst nicht nur traditionellen Gestaltungsformen unterlegen ist. Ihre Teilnahme seit 1987 an der Messe "Basel World" bietet jedes Jahr den Sammlern und Liebhabern hochwertigster Uhren sowie der internationalen Presse einen persönlichen Kontakt mit den wirklichen Meistern der Uhrmacherkunst, die hier ihre Neuheiten und Werke präsentieren.
Die AHCI hat in diesen fast 25 Jahren auch bei vielen anderen Austellungen, meist auf Einladung, mitgemacht, z.B. in Italien, Dänemark, Frankreich und Österreich, zuletzt im Dezember 2008 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Erwähnt sei noch, dass etliche ausgefallene Modelle der bekannten Nobelmarken dem Erfindergeist der Uhren-Akademiker entstammen. |
