Hublot a été créé en 1980. A cette époque, elle est la première marque horlogère suisse de luxe à fusionner les métaux précieux avec des matériaux moins conventionnels comme le caoutchouc naturel. Ce concept de création baptisé « Art of Fusion » couplé à un design original en forme de hublot provoque alors une véritable révolution dans l’industrie horlogère.
Lorsqu’en 2004, Jean-Claude Biver reprend la direction de la marque, il lui donne une fantastique impulsion et une croissance fulgurante. Avec le lancement de la Big Bang, un chronographe au design racé et contemporain, maintes fois récompensé, la marque enchaîne les records, les succès et les récompenses.
Ayant presque décuplé son chiffre d’affaires en quatre ans, la marque est achetée en 2008 par le Groupe LVMH. En 2009, elle inaugure une nouvelle manufacture high-tech de 6000m2 dédiés aux grandes complications et à la fabrication du mouvement UNICO, un chronographe à roue à colonnes intégré côté cadran, entièrement pensé, développé et manufacturé chez Hublot.
Aujourd’hui, au travers de ses 4 collections Big Bang, King Power, Classic Fusion et Masterpieces qui abritent des complications telles que tourbillon, répétition minutes, rattrapante, foudroyante, …Hublot continue d'écrire l'histoire de l'Art de la Fusion en combinant des matières inattendues comme la fibre de carbone, le zirconium, le tantale, le tungstène, le magnésium, la céramique, le titane, le caoutchouc, le nomex… à des matières plus conventionnelles comme l’or, l’acier, les diamants et les pierres précieuses.
Hublot possède aujourd’hui près de 700 points de vente et plus de 40 boutiques exclusives à travers le monde dont les plus récentes Place Vendôme à Paris, Madison Avenue à New York, Beverly Hills à Los Angeles et Ginza à Tokyo. Hublot was created in 1980. During this era, it was the first Swiss watch luxury brand to fuse precious metals with less conventional materials such as natural rubber. This creative concept, known as the "Art of Fusion", combined with an original design in the shape of a porthole ("hublot" in French), led to a veritable revolution in the watchmaking industry.
When Jean-Claude Biver took over control of the brand in 2004, he gave it tremendous momentum, leading to impressive growth. With the launch of the Big Bang, the multiple award winning chronograph with a contemporary and elegant design, the brand started achieving records, awards and success.
After attaining almost a tenfold increase in turnover in four years, the brand was bought by the LVMH Group in 2008. In 2009, it opened a new high-tech manufacture spanning 6000m2, dedicated to grandes complications and the creation of the UNICO movement, a column-wheel chronograph movement integrated into the dial side, dreamt up, developed and manufactured entirely by Hublot.
Today, through its 4 collections – the Big Bang, King Power, Classic Fusion and Masterpieces – which house watch complications such as the tourbillon, minute repeater, split second, jumping second, to name but a few, Hublot continues to write the story of the Art of Fusion by combining unusual materials such as carbon fibre, zirconium, tantalum, tungsten, magnesium, ceramic, titanium, rubber and nomex with more traditional materials like gold, steel, diamonds and precious stones.
Hublot currently has nearly 700 retailers and over 40 exclusive boutiques around the world including those most recently opened in the Place Vendôme in Paris, on Madison Avenue in New York, in Beverly Hills in Los Angeles and Ginza in Tokyo. Hublot wurde 1980 gegründet und war zu dieser Zeit die erste Schweizer Luxusuhrenmarke, die Edelmetalle mit unkonventionelleren Materialien wie beispielsweise Naturkautschuk kombinierte. Dieses kreative Konzept mit der Bezeichnung „Art of Fusion“ löste in Verbindung mit einem neuartigen Design in der Form eines Bullauges – das Wort „Hublot“ bedeutet im Französischen „Bullauge“ – eine regelrechte Revolution in der Uhrenindustrie aus.
Als 2004 Jean-Claude Biver die Geschäftsführung von Hublot übernahm, sorgte er für einen enormen Auftrieb und ein rasantes Wachstum. Mit der Markteinführung des BIG BANG, eines Chronographen mit zeitgemäß-elegantem Design, das vielfach ausgezeichnet wurde, setzte der Uhrenhersteller seine Reihe von Rekorden, Erfolgen und Auszeichnungen fort.
Nachdem die Marke ihren Umsatz in vier Jahren nahezu verzehnfacht hatte, wurde sie 2008 von der LVMH-Gruppe übernommen. 2009 eröffnete Hublot eine neue Hightech-Manufaktur: 6000 m2 stehen hier den hohen Komplikationen und der Herstellung des Uhrwerks UNICO zur Verfügung, eines bis ins Detail durchdachten Chronographenwerks mit zifferblattseitigem Säulenrad, entwickelt und gefertigt von Hublot.
Mit seinen vier Kollektionen Big Bang, King Power, Classic Fusion und Masterpieces, die mit Komplikationen wie Tourbillon, Minutenrepetition, Schleppzeiger und Foudroyante ausgestattet sind, knüpft die Marke Hublot an die Tradition der „Kunst der Fusion“ an, indem sie außergewöhnliche Materialien wie Kohlefaser, Zirkonium, Tantal, Wolfram, Magnesium, Keramik, Titan, Kautschuk und Nomex mit eher konventionellen Materialien wie Gold, Stahl, Diamanten und Edelsteinen kombiniert.
