Mr. Time Writer
Gisbert Brunner, born in 1947, has devoted himself to wristwatches, pendulum clocks and other precision timepieces since 1964. During the quartz watch crisis in the 1970s, his enthusiasm for the apparently doomed mechanical watch grew even further. The favorite pastime of this passionate collector led to his first press articles in the 1980s, and he has since published over 20 books about the watch industry.
1964: Buys his first upmarket wristwatch, a Heuer Carrera Chronograph.
Studies law, psychology and education for children with special needs in Munich
1970s: Becomes intensely interested in the fields of precision timekeeping and wristwatches.
1981: Joins the editorial team of Uhren magazine
1983: Co-authors the first comprehensive book about wristwatches
To date, he has written over 20 books on wristwatches and watch Manufactures
